Value Of Patience & Living In The Moment

June 2023 was the craziest month for our growth as creators and of our community as well. When reflecting on everything we've accomplished, and as we looked forward to our 5th Anniversary of Nush & Doza which is quickly approaching, we really wanted to prioritize living in the moment as much as we could. In a world that often celebrates instant gratification and quick results, it can be easy to overlook the profound impact that patience and presence have on our endeavors no matter what they are.

When we first began N&D, we were driven by a deep passion and desire to have more purpose in our lives. Although we set very ambitious goals, we could have never foreseen what the next few years would be like. One thing we did recognize and know right away was that we would need to be patient as we navigated the uncharted territories of our creative pursuits. Like climbing the corporate ladder straight out of college, we started off as creators, artists, YouTubers, Globs, or whatever other title we felt like that day from ground zero.

Through this patient persistence, we allow ourselves the space to navigate the inevitable setbacks, learn from our mistakes, and refine our craft. Not to say that we've figured it all out now because we actually feel like we're just beginning. If we compare it to potentially breaking the glass ceiling, maybe we're on the elevator to the first floor. But the reality is we feel like we have a solid foundation to continue learning and exploring.

We're in no rush whatsoever and truly have all the patience in the world for something we hope to do for the rest of our lives. The only time to beat is our own, and that's if we even feel like 'beating something.' Embracing patience and living in the moment taught us to trust the process. It allowed us to understand that growth is often gradual, requiring consistent effort and dedication. And it continues to provide us the freedom to experiment, learn and grow in whatever direction we choose.

It's so easy to get lost worrying about the future, constantly striving toward the next milestone, or comparing our place in our journey to other people and theirs. And this can be especially difficult to avoid when other people may be getting married, buying their first house, having babies, or getting promotions at work - but does that mean we should be doing that just because everyone else is?

No.

Everyone is on their own path, and there is no rulebook or checklist to life that you have to cross off. You get to decide, and sometimes the path you choose may be the path less traveled. It's important that you make decisions for the right reasons. If you are making a decision based solely on the comparison of you to others then that's probably not going to serve you in the long run.

In hindsight, had we gone in on things we wanted or felt like we deserved right away, we wouldn't have had the chance to truly appreciate the value that those decisions would have brought. We would have had to have instead and wait and bide our time with the additional weight of having to wait. In this way, being patient, there was no room for regret or remorse. It really allowed us to live in the moment, celebrate, and make the most of those decisions in the present.

When we focus too much on the future, we risk missing out on the joy and beauty of the present. Living in the moment, enjoying the creative process from start to finish, including all the twists and turns, celebrating the victories both small and big, and learning from the setbacks, allows us to tap into our creative flow and really savor and find fulfillment in the act of creation itself.

In the end, accomplishing our goals over time together, and living in the moment has deepened our connection as a couple, as creators, and brought a sense of fulfillment and purpose to our lives that we hope to have for the rest of our lives.

Remember that you have to start somewhere. Trust yourself and embrace growth by immersing yourself in the present, finding joy and inspiration in each step of your creative journey. Here's to cultivating patience, living in the moment, and creating with intention, depth, and authenticity.
