Stop Asian Hate

Today is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The United Nations proclaimed the day in 1966 and called on the international community from all sections of society and the world to unite against racism.

Harassing people based on their race, depriving them of their basic human rights, stereotyping them, and disrespecting them are all actions that are hindering the progression of society.

There have been nearly 3,800 reports of hate incidents targeting Asian-Americans nationwide since March 2020, according to Stop AAPI Hate. The group said the shootings this past Tuesday, "will only exacerbate the fear and pain that the Asian-American community continues to endure."

We have been listening to many individuals of the AAPI community who are speaking up, and our hearts ache for all of those hurting. Hopefully, this starts the healing process and also provokes positive actions towards meaningful and progressive social change.

As an interracial couple (Nush is Indian American and Doza is Hispanic), we have had our own experiences with racial hate firsthand, and staying silent doesn't help anyone.

We always hope to share knowledge and resources to better equip our audience on causes that we are passionate about just as much as our love for gaming, art, food, and beyond.

From the horrific attacks in Atlanta last week to the countless other discriminatory actions against others throughout history, humanity is still a long way from eliminating racial discrimination. However, we are still hopeful for the future as we all continue to get educated and unlearn harmful biases.
